- OUR VISION -
To have communities where children are holistically developing, conscious and mindful that they will eventually be the country’s backbone. The children who grew up practicing kindness would one day make up our society, a society that is more equitable, just & fair.
- OUR MISSION -
The center aims at instilling in children the core values and virtues that would make them not only academically competent, but also responsible and humane citizens in the future. It stresses on kindness as a core value that would allow the children to interact and communicate with others effectively, and resolve conflicts through non-combative means. The center, aiming at the holistic development of children, also sees the necessity of taking care of the wellness of the entire family, which is the strongest influence and primary support system of the children.
- ABOUT US -
The child care and family wellness center had its humble beginnings as the Star Plus Tutorial Center. Established in 2010, it originally catered to preschool children, preparing them to start grade school with reading and writing proficiencies.
It administers curricular programs that are uniquely designed by its owners drawing from the learning philosophies of Montessori School, the Waldorf School, and traditional learning systems. The effectiveness of the programs drew more clientele and the one-room tutorial center gradually expanded and offered programs beyond academic competencies.
Over time, a holistic child care approach was developed, including basic reading and writing skills, mental wellness and physical fitness programs. All these incorporated creative methods that inculcated in the children the love for art and a passion for learning. In 2012, 2014 and 2019, the tutorial center staged musical plays at the end of each schoolyear to showcase the talents of their kids. The musical is also a culmination of all the character-building activities the center provides their students.
In 2020, the tutorial center had to downsize its operations due to the Covid19 pandemic. It adapted to the online modular ways of teaching and one-on-one tutorials and yoga sessions were given through online platforms. With health regulations easing up in the second half of 2020, the center started to do home visits provided that the houses could meet the basic health protocols for face-to-face interactions.
During the pandemic lockdowns, many people started to develop an awareness about mental health. And knowing that the center’s mental and physical wellness programs could be of great help to the quarantined population, the owners decided to fast-track their shift in focus to address the rising needs of the community.
At the start of 2021, it gradually phased out its tutorial center to welcome its change into the Child Care and Family Wellness Center that it is today. Although it continues to offer its year-long Read, Write and Draw: Reading Comprehension Program curriculum, their main offerings are under their Pre-Kindergarten: Total Development Program that encompasses mental and physical fitness for children and their families.
